KJ Apa Says It Was 'Frustrating' Juggling Riverdale Seasons While Filming One Fast Move – So He Made A Drastic Change

Like many of his Riverdale costars, KJ Apa felt stuck in his role after five years as Archie Andrews.

The 27-year-old actor landed one of his first major film roles between seasons 6 and 7 of the CW series two years ago, and admitted he struggled to break away from the world of Archie comics to enter the zone for One quick move.

He said Entertainment Weekly it was “frustrating” to switch between the two worlds for the motorcycle film, in which he stars alongside Eric Dane, because Riverdale it was heavy on his mind.

“It was frustrating because I had never been so connected to the film I was going to make while I was also working on it Riverdale“, he recalled. “You would meet on the set Riverdalethinking about another character you’re going to play, and that can get frustrating, especially because I had to shoot very soon after that season ended.”

He told the outlet that cutting his red hair “ended up being a good choice,” adding, “I remember being in Atlanta and feeling so liberated that I was like, ‘Okay, now I can focus on this.'”
