Komal is a right-arm batsman and left-arm medium-fast bowler who plays for Vidarbha Women at the domestic level. On February 13, 2023, she was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 25 lakh during the inaugural Women’s Super League auction.

Komal Ravindra Zanzad was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1991, in Nagpur, Maharashtra (age 31; as of 2022). Her zodiac sign is Cancer.
Komal is an ordinary student and graduated in Mechanical Engineering from GH Raisoni College of Engineering. As a child, Komal used to watch boys playing cricket in her colony and developed an interest in the sport. She grew up playing local cricket and breaking neighbours’ windows. Soon she discovered her love for bowling and enrolled in a summer camp at Shree Binzani City College where she trained under coach Dalvi. She was 13 at the time and the only girl in the camp. Thereafter, she trained at the Barbarok Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) grounds. She also trained at the Muzumdar base for some time. Komal performed well in the one-day tournament organized by the Vidarbha Women Cricket Association (VWCA) and secured a spot in the VCA camp. During the camp, Komal practiced under the guidance of coaches, trainers and nutritionists, which improved her overall value and cricketing acumen.

Komal Zanzad made her debut for the Vidarbha women’s cricket team at the age of 15. She made headlines when she scored nine runs from eight against Haryana in the 2018-19 Senior Women’s One-Day League; Vidarbha Women eliminated Haryana Women by 31 runs in 18.4 overs. This was a turning point in her career.
After an impressive performance in the 2018-19 Senior Women’s One-Day League, Komal was named a member of the Indian Red Team to compete for the 2018-19 Senior Women’s Challenger Trophy. Komal showed tremendous character against tough domestic teams like Punjab Women and Andhra Pradesh Women.
International
In 2019, Komal Zanzad represented the Indian Women’s XI against England in the 50-over warm-up match, taking 3 wickets and scoring 14 runs in 7 overs. Her performance in the game impressed the selectors, who included her in the India Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) squad for the series against England in February 2019. Zanzade is one of two players from the Vidarbha women’s team to be selected for the national team. The other one is Barty Formally. She has also played for India A Women’s Team and India C Women’s Team.
