Kristen Stewart Reveals How Timing Played a Major Factor in Her Relationship with Fiancée Dylan Meyer

Kristen Stewart reflects on the beginning of her relationship with fiancée Dylan Meyer.

During Stewart’s performance at The Drew Barrymore Show Monday, Love bleeds star addressed first meeting Meyer years before they started dating after host Drew Barrymore mentioned the importance of timing in a relationship.

“Yeah, I was really lucky to meet someone who was me again – I was so ill-equipped and now I want to do this,” Stewart, 33, said during the appearance. “Yes, I was just in the right place to recognize and respect how good she was compared to me, my selfish little self.”

Stewart and Meyer, a screenwriter and actress, began dating in 2019, but Stewart has shared in the past that they first met several years before their romance began.

On The Howard Stern Show in November 2019, she noted that she and Meyer began dating after reuniting at a mutual friend’s birthday party six years after meeting on the film set.

Stewart confirmed that she and Meyer are engaged in November 2021, and a source recently told PEOPLE that the couple is “totally in love.”

“She’s been happy in her committed relationship and has been engaged for a while,” a source said of Stewart, adding, “She likes to be at home and do the housework.”

“Kids are a natural progression for her,” adds the source about Stewart and Meyer’s plans to have children. “She’s young and has plenty of time to plan this.”

Stewart said Rolling stone in a recent profile that she and Meyer discussed having children together, with an ex Twilight star says she “really wants to[s] for that to happen.”

“I’m not afraid of pregnancy. I’m not afraid of having a baby,” she shared with the outlet. “But I’m so freaking scared of giving birth, it’s crazy.”

Stewart also shared with Rolling stone that she and Meyer are writing a potential upcoming project together and hailed the positive impact she’s had on her life since the couple moved in together.

In February, Meyer shared her annual Valentine’s Day tribute to Stewart on Instagram, showing multiple photos of the pair posing together and sharing a kiss by the ocean.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to my #1 crush, the hottest cat mom in the game,” Meyer captioned her romance-filled post at the time. “I’m so, so in love with you.”
