Jenna Bush Hager is celebrating the fifth anniversary of her ‘Read with Jenna’ program — and mom Laura Bush couldn’t be prouder.
The Today with Hoda and Jenna the host, 42, celebrated a special milestone of the day Today’s show bringing Read with Jenna authors on the show who have packaged their books to send to libraries in all 50 states. The books will arrive in libraries in time for Read Across America Day on March 2.
“It’s so fun to have all these authors here and they can see all these books, and I’m really proud of the community of readers who get to read with all of them,” Bush Hager said. “It’s pretty amazing.”

Today Show host Craig Melvin noted that several of the books on the list were also big hits, adding that 41 of the 63 books selected for Read With Jenna became The New York Times bestsellers, and 32 of them were “selected for TV or film”.

To congratulate Bush Hager, my friend Today hosts Melvin, Hoda Kotb, Carson Daly and Al Roker also surprised the author and host with a special video message from her mom.
“As we celebrate Read Day across America, congratulations on five years of the Read With Jenna book club,” she said in the video as her daughter cried. “I am thrilled that you are packaging each of your Read with Jenna selections and sending the books to libraries in all 50 states.”
“By sharing your favorite books, you are inspiring more Americans to fall in love with reading. Well here’s to five more years of happy reading for you and everyone else Today viewers of the show,” she added. “I love you.”
