Salma Hayek shares her brilliant beauty tricks.
In an Instagram Reel posted on February 28, the 57-year-old actress gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her get-ready routine.
“We don’t keep hair tips here,” Hayek wrote on Instagram, along with a video of her DIY trick to cover up gray hair.
“Look at all this white hair,” Hayek begins the clip as she runs her fingers through her hair to show off her gray hair.
“So what’s the secret? How can you sometimes cover it without having to paint it?”
Hayek then shares his home hack.
“So when I’m alone, I just put on mascara!”
The star – who wears a cape that keeps opening, forcing her to close it on several occasions and also censor her video – then pulls out the tube.
“Just go like this,” she says as she motions to run the wand through her hair, “and all those little rebels sticking up, not only get black, but stay straight.”

Hayek then adds that she has another secret up her sleeve, thanks to her hair pro.
“But today because we have an excellent hairdresser working with us who will show us a different trick.”
Hairstylist Miguel Martin Perez applies a root covering spray to the star’s hair and within seconds her grays are back to black.
“You see, I don’t have to be [dyeing] every three weeks,” says Hayek.

The star also adds that she is more than comfortable with her natural hair.
“I don’t mind,” she says. “But sometimes the people you work with… get in the way.”
While it wasn’t clear what Hayek was up to, Martin posted the Reel on their Instagram page with a caption that teased more would be revealed.
“All about secrets #besthairever @salmahayek #bigproject #bighairbigdreams coming soon.”

Hayek has been refreshingly candid about her view of beauty over the years.
In 2020, she posed for PEOPLE’s Beautiful Issue without makeup and opened up about the fact that she had previously “criticized[d] so much.”
“When I look at pictures of myself in my 30s or 40s, I see myself more beautiful than I saw myself at that time,” she said. “Now when I look in the mirror and see things I don’t see, I think how much I’ll like myself in 10 years.”
