Lenny Kravitz knows how to get a crowd going!
On Friday, Oct. 18, the rock star, 60, took the stage for the first show of his five-day Las Vegas residency — and, of course, he did it in style.
For the inaugural concert, the “Fly Away” rocker took the Dolby Live stage at Park MGM in classic Kravitz cut: a pair of flared jeans, ultra-oversized sunglasses and a sparkly, tight shirt.

“It’s always been a great piece of entertainment history and I thought it would be a great warm-up, a great place to start and introduce Blue Electric Light to America,” he told PEOPLE in May.

While specialization can take a serious physical toll, Kravitz also said he doesn’t plan to do any special preparation because, simply put, he already does.

While there was no “conceptual idea” for the record — which marks his 12th studio album — it stays true to the “Human” artist’s tendency to have a different tone and sound quality on each body of work.
“It’s a different part of my life,” Kravitz told PEOPLE of the album.

In February, the rocker hinted at it Blue electric light it was a sort of precursor to his debut album. “It’s like the record I didn’t make in high school before I made my first album, Let love rule“, he said at the 2024 Grammys. “So, it’s really fun.”
As for why that album wasn’t realized at the time, he said it was because he “never got a record deal.”
“I didn’t get a record deal until I was 23. So I left that kind of vibe and moved on, and this is a small step in that direction,” the musician explained, adding that “it’s nice to celebrate that time. ”
Kravitz’s residency in Vegas will last three more nights: October 23rd, 25th and 26th.
