Lexi Reed ‘So Close’ to Dropping Below 200 lb. Goal: ‘I Have to Keep Reminding Myself Progress Is Progress’

Lexi Reed is trying not to get discouraged after passing her weigh-in milestone by just a few ounces.

“I weighed 200.2 lbs this morning,” she shared with a sigh on her Instagram stories on Monday. “So close, so close!”

“They say that once you get close to something, it gets harder, right?”

But she took an optimistic approach, saying: “That means I’ve lost 0.8lbs this week, which is still amazing. And I have to keep reminding myself, like, progress is progress, no matter how small it is. I just know that I worked very hard this week. But that’s okay, because I didn’t gain all that weight overnight, so I won’t lose it overnight either. So keep going, no matter what.”

“I lost almost 4 kg. last week, so this week will obviously be smaller.”

“I’m going to get to Wonderland,” she added, referring to the sub-200-pound milestone. “Whether it’s next week or next year. We will get there eventually.”

Reed posted a video of her weigh-in — with the scale reading 200.2 lbs, — writing, “I may not have hit a certain number, but I gave it 100% and that’s a real win.”

The fitness influencer shared her health journey after her weight loss progress was derailed by a debilitating battle with calciphylaxis. It’s a rare disease that the Mayo Clinic explains occurs when “calcium builds up in the small blood vessels of fat and skin.”

It causes “blood clots, painful skin ulcers and can cause serious infections that can lead to death” – and for Reed, the often fatal disease led to 59 weeks of treatment for painful wounds all over his body last year.

Although Reed said, “I’m really quite terrified that my calciphylaxis is going to come back like it has for others with my disease,” she says, “I refuse to let that fear control me or waste days/time feeling it again.”

She shot an Instagram video on Monday in her car outside the gym, where she and her husband Danny were scheduled to do their regular workout on Monday, and kept the positive vibes going.

“I will do this training because never miss a Monday and in the end, you are against yourself. Today is a good day to start, today is a good day to show yourself, today is a good day to be better than you were yesterday.”

“No one can do it for you. You have to show up. You have to make an effort. You need to eat healthy food, drink water and keep moving. Because all those things will add up and get you where you want to be. Well, let’s go!”
