Lil Nas X’s open nature about his sexual identity has influenced many members of the LGBTQ+ community — including his own brother.
New documentary of musicians “Industry Baby”. Lil Nas X: Long live Montero premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend, and Entertainment Weekly He reported that the film reveals his brother talking about how the performer inspired him to come out as bisexual.
“My brother really opened doors for a lot of people,” Hill reportedly says in the film. “Yeah, he opened doors for me. What do I mean, like I’m not gay, but do you feel me? I’m bisexual. He helped me be real with myself. My brother made me more open to that.”

Hill reportedly said on camera that he was worried about how publicly confronting his own sexuality might affect various relationships in his life. In the end, Lil Nas X, 24, inspired him to live his truth.
“If you’re— with me, you’re— with me. If you won’t, you won’t. Goodbye. Get out of my presence. I don’t need you,” Hill said, per EWin the documentary.
He reportedly added: “At the end of the day, people will screw with who they screw with, so stop trying to hunt for a friend. A friend will always be there.”
Lil Nas X is performing in England in June 2023.

Adam Lambert Says He’s ‘Flattered’ Lil Nas X Credits Him For Opening Doors For LGBTQ+ Pop Stars
The film follows Lil Nas X on his Long Live Montero tour and features footage of him rehearsing, hanging out with his big, rowdy family and meeting Madonna.
During Saturday’s premiere, the “Old Town Road” singer said he hopes viewers will “get some reality out of it because I’m always joking and trolling 24/7,” adding, “I hope they get a real side of me, and I hope that they will like it.”
Lil Nas X may have inspired his brother to come out, but the Grammy winner wasn’t the first musician to publicly embrace his sexuality. In an interview with Heavy earlier this year, he spoke of looking up to fellow queer pop star Adam Lambert for paving the way.

“I actually thanked him personally. I really appreciate all the love he’s shown me and I definitely don’t take it for granted. And I appreciate all the doors that he and people like him have opened,” Lil Nas X said at the time.
Lambert later responded to his comments during an episode Watch what’s happening live. “It was very flattering that he even knew who I was,” said the American Idol alum. “I think he’s such a rock star, so bold and brave, and I love what he’s doing.”
