Emily Cooper is back!

Lily Collins, 35, paid tribute to her titular fashion-forward heroine’s extravagant style at Emily in Paris Premiere in Los Angeles in a black embroidered dress.

She explained that when she was dating that ex-boyfriend – whom she has never publicly named – he would tell her “you can’t wear that, you can’t do that, you can’t say that.” As a result, she wore muted colors and stayed away from anything bold and bright, calling the time her “boring period.”

“For a while, I thought if you physically, with volume, make yourself bigger, then you’re taking up too much space,” Collins shared.
