Lindsay Lohan Teases Freaky Friday 2 Plot Is 'Much Freakier Than You Would Expect'

Ahead of us are still many unpleasant things Strange Friday 2according to Lindsay Lohan.

“It’s going to be a really creepy Friday,” the actress, 37, told the sequel with a laugh during an appearance on Good morning America June 27. “A lot weirder than you’d expect.”

More than 20 years after their original comedy, Lohan and actress Jamie Lee Curtis bring back their body-swapping mother-daughter characters, Anna and Tess Coleman, for the sequel.

In her GMA interview, Lohan said there was “a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughter” on the set of the new film, for which Lohan is taking guitar lessons and in which her character is now the mother of her own daughter.

In the two decades since 2003 Crazy FridayLohan said she and Curtis, 65, “stayed in touch.”

“They always say when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close to, if you can’t see them for years and years, but when you see them again it’s like you were never apart,” she added.

Plans for another Crazy Friday were first reported in 2022, when Curtis confirmed to PEOPLE that there was “a lot of good talk” about a sequel.

As the film celebrates its 20-year anniversary in May 2023, Curtis and Lohan reunited for a chat with The New York Timeswhere the latter said she would also be open to another film.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reflect on ‘Freaky Friday’ 20 years later and give updates on the sequel

An announcement Walt Disney Studios shared with X on June 24 confirmed that a sequel is in production and will hit theaters next year.

In the attached clip, Curtis and Lohan have conveniently switched places, both sitting on the steps of the other star’s trailer and holding hands.

“We’re back!” Lohan captioned the fun video shoot.

To add to the celebratory news, Curtis posted a shot of pillows featuring her and Lohan’s faces, referencing the sequin effect in her caption. “FLIP AND FLIP! @disney @disneystudios @lindsaylohan,” the Oscar winner wrote.
