Matt’s joyous post comes months after his son Zach, 34, revealed their relationship was “not great”.

Zach said on his and Tori Roloff Raising heights podcast in May 2024, “I guess it’s not like there is. The filming is over, you just give yourself some space and the show airs six months later [and] it kind of opens up some old wounds,” referring to the 25th season Little people, big worldwhich concluded in April 2024.

The strained relationship between Matt and his son arose after Matt’s engagement and as the family contemplated the future of their farm. Matt put some of his property up for sale that his son was interested in buying. Matt eventually decided to turn the property into a short-term vacation rental, which was featured on the show.

“The dust has settled, but it’s like nothing has been fixed or anything,” Zach explained on his podcast. “Things come out on social media and you realize people are thinking the same thing…I don’t know, more time might heal,” he added.
