Love Is Blind’s Bliss Is Pregnant, Expecting First Baby with Husband Zack: ‘A Beautiful Blessing’ (Exclusive)

The couple, who met and married on Season 4 of the Netflix hit, are expecting their first child together, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm. The news marks the first public pregnancy announcement from the married couple Love is blind.

“It’s a little nerve-racking, but I think it’s such a beautiful thing,” Bliss tells PEOPLE of welcoming her first baby in the spring of 2024. “Babies are miracles and blessings, and I think we’ve been so open to sharing our journey and our relationship with the world, and this is our next big beautiful thing. I’m really happy and I hope it brings joy to other people. It definitely brought us a ton of joy.”

Love Is Blind, Zack ‘Can’t Wait’ To Have Kids With Bliss: ‘Our Kids Will Be The Happiest’

Bliss found out about her pregnancy a few months ago, but the couple says the way she broke the news didn’t exactly go as planned.

“We’ve been planning this. We’ve been actively trying, but it was definitely a surprise,” shares Bliss. “I was feeling a little nauseous… I took the test myself because I wanted to surprise Zack whenever [confirmed]. I found out early in the morning while Zack was sleeping and it was shocking. It was like, does that really speak positively? What is happening? It was definitely one of the most surreal moments of my life.”

“I was actually going on a trip and that’s why I had to tell Zack that day,” she continues. “I wanted to make this big thing and make a big surprise out of it and buy all these things that said ‘dad’, but I didn’t have time for all that. So I bought a cake and put ‘I love you dad’ on it. It was It’s a really sweet moment and he was confused at first.”

Zack, however, remembers the moment a little differently. It turns out that the day Bliss found out she was pregnant also happened to be her mom’s birthday.

“She told me her mother sent us a cake for her birthday,” Zack recalls. “I believe that, don’t you? That’s actually something she would do… So Bliss is like, ‘Open the cake,’ and I read it and she’s like, ‘I love you, Dad.’ And I’m like, ‘What? Why does your mom call me that?'”

After getting past his initial confusion and putting the pieces together, Bliss says she and Zack shared a “really special moment.”

“There were tears in his eyes and it was a very happy moment,” she recalls as Zack adds, “I was incredibly happy. We both really wanted this and so we felt really blessed to be able to make it happen.” ”

Since that day, Bliss feels “grateful that my body can grow a baby,” even though she’s experienced morning sickness and fatigue, and “craves lots of green, crunchy vegetables, [and] citrus.”

Zack, meanwhile, was “very, very, very sweet and loving” when it came to helping her deal with her pregnancy symptoms — even avoiding garlic after she developed an “aversion” to it and frequenting the Whole Foods buy her a grapefruit. “It’s been wonderful to go through this together and have his support,” Bliss says of her husband.

How is she feeling these days? Bliss says she’s “embraceing” every moment of her pregnancy.

“I feel really good and happy,” she explains. “It’s definitely really crazy, surreal. Pregnancy is a wild ride of emotions and physical changes, but we’re excited about the end result.”

Although they don’t yet know the gender of their baby on the way, the couple says they plan to find out in a few months. “We’re going to do a little gender reveal in the next few months,” says Bliss. “So we’re excited to find out.”

“I think we both want a boy and a girl eventually – it would be lovely to have both,” she adds. “But the main priority is to have a healthy baby and whatever gender it is, it will be loved very much.”

‘Love is blind’: Zack says he ‘walked away feeling pretty good’ after tense first date with Bliss’ dad

Bliss also says she goes with the flow when it comes to giving birth. “I don’t think a plan is a plan at all. I think I’ll have to see how I feel at this point and kind of go with it,” she says. “I’m really trying to go into this with no expectations, except that I want it to be as peaceful and calm as possible.”

Until their little one arrives, the two fantasize about the moment they will finally meet their “beautiful blessing” for the first time.

“I think I’m excited to see them learn and explore the world,” Bliss says. “And hopefully, if we do things right, we’ll see what they can contribute and how they can make the world a better place. I think that’s one of the most powerful things we can do as human beings, and I really hope that for our child. And I can’t wait to kiss his cheeks and his little toes and just give him love. And I’m excited to see him experience love and life and all that.”

Zack adds, “I think my biggest hope for our child is just that they live a happy life and that they bring happiness and joy to the world. And like Bliss said, we can raise them to be someone who makes the world a better place.”

“No matter what we do as parents, we’ll never get everything right,” she notes. “I’m going to make a lot of mistakes … but I think the only thing that really matters is that I let our child know that I love him and that I believe he can do whatever he wants.”

Parents-to-be also realize that as their child grows up, they will have something that not every child will have: the opportunity to see their parent’s beginnings on a reality show.

While it might be embarrassing for some, Zack and Bliss think it’s “beautiful” that their child can go back and see the origins of their love story again.

“We talk about how one day our child will have to tell their friends the story of how their parents met, and they’ll definitely have a very interesting story to share. I think it’s really nice that they’ll be able to see their beginnings,” says Bliss. allowing your child to watch Love is blind one day. “And yes, our story wasn’t a straight line, but I think it’s also important for them to know that sometimes things aren’t a straight line and people make mistakes and you can redeem yourself and you can make them right.”

“And life is a journey and it’s not always perfect,” she continues. “So I think it’s nice for our child to see one day when they’re old enough. There are certain parts that I think are inappropriate for children. But I don’t think it’s something we’re going to hide from them. We probably couldn’t, even if we wanted!”

As for whether their child wants to continue Love is blind one day?

“I would actually encourage them if they want to do it, to do it,” Zack says. “And I think the reason is you never know what’s going to happen and I would encourage my child not to play it safe. To go do things that scare you because life is short. We only have so much time on this earth, so go for your dreams.”
