Love Is Blind's Tyler Speaks Out About Sperm Donor Situation, Says His Kids 'Did Not Sign Up for This'

After weeks of internet bombshells and speculation, Love is blind star Tyler Francis sets the record straight about his situation with sperm donors and biological children.

During the Season 7 reunion on Wednesday, October 30, Tyler opened up about serving as a sperm donor for his friend for the first time since he broke the news to his wife Ashley Adionser in episode 9.

“Those kids, that family, they didn’t sign up for this,” he said. “Things that shouldn’t be happening are happening now.”

As fans remember, Tyler (34) informed Ashley (32) after they got engaged that he was a close friend and her wife’s sperm donor and fathered three biological children. Tyler claimed at the time that he didn’t have a good relationship with the kids and that they didn’t even know what he looked like.

However, it was later leaked on social media that Tyler was more involved than he let on. Photos of him and the children spending Christmas morning in matching pajamas circulated online, along with accusations that he owed child support and abandoned his children to be on the show.

At the reunion, Tyler set the record straight, saying he “helped a friend and her wife start a family,” but the woman ended up leaving his friend, so he “volunteered” to step in to help with the kids.

“There are pictures of me around,” he admitted. “I played a role that became very unsafe with a friend. There are no rules for this… but I want to let people know that Ashley knows all of this. This is news to the world, this was never news to us.”

Tyler added that he’s explaining because “the world is waiting for it,” but noted, “I don’t owe anybody an explanation but my wife… I’m good, we’re good, and I’m not going to keep harping on it.”

For her part, Ashley slammed people who thought she was completely unaware of the situation and clarified that Tyler never wanted to discuss the subject on camera.

“Who do you think has better insight into what’s going on? Social media or me? When people imply that she was blindsided, that she didn’t know, it’s insulting to my intelligence,” she said. “For the record, this is something he never wanted to share on camera. I just didn’t feel like it would be an authentic experience or that I could go on… if we hadn’t [discuss this].”

She went on to say that they ended up talking about it on camera in “some capacity” so there was no “disconnection” with loved ones and viewers, but “there were things he was comfortable sharing and things he wasn’t .”

Ashley even pointed out that Tyler knowingly lied to the cameras about his kids not knowing what he looked like, and joked that it was very obvious in that scene.

“You could say… so, of course, he revealed that information to me [beforehand]”, she emphasized. “Because he grew up in a single-parent family… it was very difficult for him to remove himself [from this situation] and not to be involved when this is now a single mother.”

“I know he’s a good person who got in a little too deep and didn’t know what to do next,” she said.

Tyler interjected, “This isn’t a game, this is till death do us part, and we mean it.”

Although there were claims that Tyler owed child support money and abandoned his children to be on the show, the reality star did not address those at the reunion because it was filmed before the claims hit the internet.

Despite everything, Ashley said they are still happily married. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime love and it’s worth risking everything,” she said of her husband. – It’s worth it all.

Tyler added: “There wasn’t a day she didn’t say ‘I love you’. … I have never experienced unconditional love to this extent … this is the first time in my life that I have experienced it.”
