Love Island USA's Nicole and Kendall Face Off During Reunion but Are 'Still Together': 'A Lot of Conversations'

The Island of love USA The Season 6 reunion brought fans some long-awaited answers. Type.

Last week, the Islanders reunited in a dramatic reunion hosted by Ariana Madix, which aired Monday, August 19 on the Peacock and brought the drama – and cleared up one much-talked-about couple

The fate of Nicole Jacky and Kendall Washington, who finished the season in fourth place behind winners Serena Page and Kordell Beckham, runners-up Leah Kateb and Miguel Harichi and third-place JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez, was revealed during the reunion as they tackled the challenges that they have been going through since they left the villa in July, especially with the leaking of Kendall’s private videos.

“It was a little rough on the outside,” Kendall, 27, began telling host Madix. “I’m just trying to communicate…”

But Nicole, 26, quickly interjected: “Communicate? You haven’t communicated. You never were.”

Kendall continued by remarking that they were trying to “give each other space,” but Nicole cut her off once again and shot back, “After you lied to my face?”

He explained to Madix and the crowd that when they left the mansion, “something happened,” alluding to the leak of his private videos. He then explained that he “should have told Nicole the whole truth when it happened and he didn’t.”

Nicole responded to viewers that “the video is wrong” and that “nobody deserves that.” But as she continued, Kendall said, “I think if you say you love someone, the moment you tell me, you have to be honest.”

She then revealed that Kendall told her there was a video “from years ago” with “someone [he] reliable, ex-girlfriend.” But she posted that she found out two days later “from JaNa that it was in a hotel room before you go on a show on a dating app is crazy.”

“I was there for you. That’s why I didn’t speak up; I didn’t say anything because it’s fucking awful what you went through. But you also weren’t honest with me about it,” she said.

Kendall explained that he “should have been honest with Nicole at that point,” but he wasn’t ready to do so. “My life was turned upside down and I just wanted you there. That’s why I said it.”

Nicole went on to tell Kendall that she “stood by” him, but then “then [he] lied [her].” Although Kendall was quick to tell her that he “didn’t want to lie to her.”

However, she added that he hasn’t gotten back to her since the show ended, that she “took all the heat” and didn’t talk about it to protect him.

“I was literally trying to let you know I was here without going overboard,” Kendall replied. But Nicole then revealed that Kendall wasn’t checking on her until she posted on Instagram after taking a break from social media. This hiatus followed the leak of Kendall’s video online, and when she returned on August 2, she admitted that she “took time to process.”

She also noted that he would post other women on his Instagram stories, before declaring: “You only check me out when it’s important to you.” Kendall admitted that he thinks he’s “doing the right thing [by] giving [her] room.”

Several of the couple’s Islanders were quick to come to Kendall’s defense, admitting that he turned to everyone for advice on how to patch things up with Nicole.

Nicole was clear that she believed Kendall loved her – and she loved him, but her trust was shaken. “I didn’t end things. We’re still together,” she clarified.

“All I want is to correct a lie,” Kendall pleaded.

When Madix asked if Nicole wanted to be with Kendall, she quickly replied, “That’s all I’ve ever wanted. I just think there’s a lot of conversation to be had and I don’t take that lightly.”

The video leaked before Kendall and Nicole returned their phones after leaving the mansion, but Kendall also issued a statement about the leak on his Instagram Stories, calling the video “something I shared with someone in trust and confidence.”

“It’s sad that it’s no longer private, but it is what it is. I want to thank you all for your calls/messages to support me during this time. I’m so grateful for my Island of love experiences and I love you all for tuning in and watching my journey.”

Before the reunion, neither Nicole nor Kendall gave any updates on their relationship after Kendall’s appearance on the July 30 episode Viall filesduring which he confirmed that they are together, but things are going slowly.

“We honestly look day by day because being in the public eye and seeing everyone’s opinions affects people differently.”
