M25 closed for 6 HOURS after horror 3-car crash near M11 junction left man, 68, dead and 2 others injured

The M25 was closed for six hours after a horrific three-car crash in which one man was killed and two others injured.

The crash happened near junction 27 in Essex shortly after 11am this morning, causing major disruption in both directions.

A 68-year-old man was treated by paramedics before being pronounced dead at the scene.

Two more patients were transferred to the hospital.

National Highways confirmed this evening X that all lanes have now reopened on the M25 anti-clockwise between junction 28 (Brentwood) and junction 27 (Epping).

It added: “There is still approximately 2.5 miles of congestion on the approach.”

Emergency services were called at 11:07 a.m. to a report of an accident.

A spokesman for London Ambulance Service previously said: “We sent resources to the scene, including a paramedic in a rapid response car and an emergency officer.

“The incident is ongoing and we are currently on scene with our emergency service partners.”

Essex Police are appealing for anyone who has dash cam footage that could help with the investigation to speak to them.
