Maren Morris talks about what really happened that denim skirt.
The music star, 34 recently moved on Cosmopolitanseries Cheap Shot and in her episode she additionally addressed the rumors about the tailoring accident she experienced in July.
In case you missed it, the Grammy winner went viral for her performance at Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic concert because of her outfit. She wore a maxi denim skirt with a crotch-length slit, which many believe reveals her nether regions.
But Morris dispelled that speculation by confirming that she was indeed wearing underwear, even though it looked like she had gone commando.

“Yes, against my will, a video recently circulated of me wearing a denim skirt with a huge slit. I was wearing underwear. It was bare underwear, but it looked like my whole vagina was out,” she said in the August 19 video.
Morris also dismissed the idea that the whole thing was a “publicity stunt” because she never wanted it to happen.
“Actually, before I wore that skirt, I had another wardrobe malfunction with a skirt before that. So the denim skirt was, like, my fallback option. I said, ‘I have to make sure I wear underwear with this.’ I wish I had worn day clothes so that people would know for sure that I was wearing them. But you live and learn,” she said.
The “Middle” singer still had to admit that the moment was “a bit iconic” and joked that she could frame the skirt in her home, if not in a Hall of Fame.

More than a week after her videos went viral, Morris posted a TikTok video in which she nonchalantly reflects on the incident.
In the comments, she wrote that nothing, not even a small fashion failure, can embarrass her because she has already “given birth”. In March 2020, Morris had a son, Hayes (4), with ex-husband Ryan Hurd.
