Mark Wahlberg Watches 90 Day Fiancé When His Wife Picks Their Bedtime Show: ‘I Never Make It to the End’ (Exclusive)

Mark Wahlberg and his wife Rhea Durham have different tastes when it comes to watching TV in the evening.

The Arthur the king actor, 52, tells PEOPLE that when Durham, 45, is in charge of the remote, she usually gravitates toward reality TV.

“If my wife wants to pick a show, it’s usually something in a style of some sort housewives or Fiancé of 90 days or something like that,” he says.

As for Wahlberg’s taste? He prefers movies, football when it’s in season or something else “sporty”.

However, no matter what’s on screen, Wahlberg is likely to fall asleep. “I never get to the end,” he says.

No wonder. Fitness enthusiasts often wake up at 4 a.m. to train before sunrise. Wahlberg, an early riser, jokes that waking up at that early hour is “sleepy.”

It’s all part of the actor’s life in Nevada, where he and Durham — who share children Ella, 20, Michael, 17, Brendan, 15, and Grace, 14 — moved from Los Angeles in 2022.

“It’s a place where my kids can thrive and do their own thing,” says Wahlberg, who also shares his home with four dogs: Pomsky Jojo, Pomsky Penny, Boston terrier Lola and Champ.

He plays with his canine inside Arthur the kingheartwarming story based on the true story of Swedish adventure runner Mikael Lindnord, who rescued a stray dog ​​while in the middle of a high-stakes competition.

“He was really honored that people wanted to see his story,” Wahlberg says of Lindnord. “I think it was something he did out of the goodness of his heart, when he decided to give up the race to save Arthur.”

The film was mostly shot in the Dominican Republic, but Wahlberg says he can’t wait to start working more in his backyard. Last year, he lobbied Nevada state lawmakers to give tax breaks to movies shot in the state, and he wants to see a studio built nearby.

“I hope so,” says the Boogie nights star, “we’ll be able to make movies at home.”

After spending four months with his family because of last year’s actors’ strike, “you get used to being home,” he continues, adding that he’d rather not be away “when there’s so much going on with my kids ‘live.'”
