Matthew McConaughey Reacts After Seeing His Wax Figure for First Time: ‘It Feels Like It’s Alive’

The wax figure of Matthew McConaughey left him a little dazed and confused.

On Tuesday in the episode Viewactor and Just because the author is shown his brand new Madame Tussauds wax figure for the first time live on stage in front of a studio audience.

After the figure’s big reveal — which featured McConaughey, 53, in a dapper suit — the Oscar winner walked over to pose next to her, recreating the same smoldering look into the camera to the delight of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and other co-hosts and the show’s audience.

“I feel like AI is alive and well,” McConaughey said after circling the figure, placing his hands on his hips and leaning back to see the uncanny resemblance.

“I don’t remember when, but I wore this suit and I remember those shoes!” he wondered, also noticing that his figure was wearing a wedding ring similar to his own, engraved with “6.22” and all.

Goldberg, 67, jokingly asked “if the figure is as good at rubbing feet” as McConaughey, who also hilariously massaged the feet of Behar, 80, during the episode, recreating the viral moment from 2006.

“He’s doing this — he’s rubbing his feet out of here,” McConaughey joked, waving his arms in front of the figure while standing behind it.

“It’s wild… it feels like it’s alive,” the actor added of the wax figure’s lifelike appearance.

McConaughey stopped by View appeared as his debut children’s bookJust becauseon shelves on Tuesday.

“It came to me at 2:30 in the morning like a song in my sleep,” he told PEOPLE earlier this month of his book idea. “It was a song in my mind, I got up and wrote it down.”
