Matthew McConaughey’s son Levi can cross his dad off his holiday to-do list.
On Friday, the 15-year-old posted a video on his Instagram, taking his followers with him on a Christmas shopping spree.
“So, I just finished my Christmas shopping and I got to my dad’s… it’s hard for him to shop, but I think I found something he might like. Come on,” Levi says in the video, as the camera follows him into the store musical instruments.

Levi looks at the guitars, spins the turntable and sits down at the traditional drum kit to play before announcing, “Guys, I think we just found it.”
So what does Levi think is the perfect gift for his dad? A set of bongo drums, of course!
“We all know my dad loves a good bongo,” Levi says, banging on the drums. “Merry Christmas everyone!”
It’s not clear whether Levi was a lighthearted nod to the 1998 incident involving his father’s arrest while playing bongos while he was naked, which he wrote about in his 2020 memoir. Green lights.
Levi’s video was liked by his dad Mud actress Reese Witherspoon. Matthew, 54, hasn’t responded yet – but he’ll probably take the joke.
It’s in April magical mike star took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of himself with a haircut, wearing bunny ears and playing bongos with a friend while fully clothed. Along with the photo, he wrote, “Bongos, rabbit ears and blessings #happychristmas.”

Levi McConaughey reflects on his ‘really cool’ community service experience cooking meals in Paris
Levi and his father enjoy a close relationship. Last month, the teenager posted a touching tribute to the actor in honor of his birthday.
“People know Matthew McConaughey as an actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father,” he wrote, sharing a series of photos of the duo together.
“A man who always makes time for us no matter what, a man who is always there for us no matter what, and a man who taught me to appreciate the journey, not just the destination,” Levi continued. “The journeys are just beginning…Happy Birthday Papa.”
