Meghan (42) and Harry (39) squeezed in several private vacations this year. In September, the couple reportedly stopped in Portugal (where Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her family live part-time) after the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany and made a low-key visit to the Caribbean in October after celebrating World Mental Health Day in New York.

The news of the Costa Rica trip comes after Meghan revealed what’s probably on Archie’s Christmas wish list — and why he won’t be getting it!

During the event, Meghan revealed that her son follows Harriman, the famous photographer behind some of the portraits of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“The inspiration runs deep,” Meghan said. “Our 4-year-old,” before she corrected herself, “4 ½-year-old son — he’d say, ‘No, I’m not 4. I’m 4 ½ — Misan was showing him how to take pictures last time he was with us, and I bought Archie camera, and he said, ‘But it’s not a Leica like a Misan,’” she said with a laugh.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas,'” Meghan continued about the luxury cameras, turning her attention to Misano. “So thank you for the inspiration in the whole area.”

Last Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex unveiled their 2023 holiday card. A virtual card was sent by email on behalf of their organization Archewell.

“We wish you a very happy holiday season. Thank you for your support in 2023.” the map reads. It’s also linked to the couple’s annual Archewell Foundation Impact Report, which features a video highlighting some of their work over the past year.

Harry and Meghan chose a glamorous photo from the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games 2023, which took place in Düsseldorf. Harry wore a black suit with a black shirt, while Meghan wore a strapless green dress with delicate laser-cut floral detailing. The couple cheered and clapped as the American team took the stage as Bruce Springsteen’s hit “Born in the USA” played.

The Duchess of Sussex previously said she and her husband were “enjoying” the festive season with Archie and Lili. During a red carpet appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles last month, a reporter asked Meghan about her favorite holiday tradition.

“That’s a great question,” she replied, referring to her children. “Our little ones are small, and we enjoy every moment.”
