Before the first announcement, the two-time Grammy winner released his 24th studio album, Spark of Lightin July 2023. Following its release, Bolton told PEOPLE that the album and its single “Beautiful World” are about him sharing positivity in dark times.

He explained that optimism na Spark of Light is inspired by the pandemic and the need to find positivity in the darkest of times.

“We looked at our friends and family and saw that they all really needed some light, it was so dark and oppressive and we were all just carrying layers of fear into each day,” he said.

“And so we started to feel a responsibility to deliver hope and promise and all these feelings that seem so elusive, and it started to become a feel-good record.”
