Biography of Michael Caine
Michael Caine was born on March 14, 1933 in London, England. He is the son of Maurice Joseph Micklewhite and Ellen Frances Marie Micklewhite. Maurice worked as a porter at the fish market, while Ellen was the cook and president. Michael also has two siblings, both of whom are brothers.

Caine passed his eleven plus exam in 1944. He then attended Hackney Downs School on a scholarship. A year later, he transferred to Wilson’s Grammar School in Camberwell. He developed an interest in literature while attending school there, influenced by his English teacher. In 1949, he got his high school diploma and started working as an archivist in a film company.
Career
Michael Caine began his acting career in 1950 with the film Morning Departure. His performance in the film went unnoticed. Six years later he played another uncredited role in Panic in the Parlour. In the same year, he played Private Lockyer in the movie The Hill in Korea. In 1956 he appeared in The Adventures of Sir Lancelot and BBC Sunday Night Theatre. A year later he appeared in one episode each of Blood Money, BBC Sunday Night Theater and Dixon of Dock Green. That same year, Caine played the uncredited role of Caine in The Steel Bayonet. By 1963, he appeared in a series of uncredited roles in films such as The Mystery Woman, Carve Her Name With Pride, The Key, The Danger Within, The Bulldog Breed, The Day the Earth Caught Fire, and The Crooked Hand of the Law.
Caine became famous in 1966 with the movie Alfie. He played Alfie Elkins in the film, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. He appeared in three films in the same year: The Wrong Box, Gambit and Funeral In Heaven. Additionally, he played Henry Warren, Handsome Stranger, and Harry Palmer in Hurry Sundown, Woman Times Seven, and Billion Dollar Brain. A year later, he appeared in the films Deadfall and The Magus. Caine has appeared in a variety of films including Battle of the Brain, Too Late the Hero, Get Carter, Pulp, Sleuth, The Black Windmill, The Wilby Conspiracy and Ashanti to name a few.
