Michael Keaton Reflects on Working with ‘Special’ Jenna Ortega for Beetlejuice Sequel: ‘She’s Just Got It’

While talking to Party tonight earlier this week at the premiere of his new film Knox leavesThe 72-year-old actor has spoken about returning for the sequel to the 1988 film. bug juiceunder the appropriate title Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

When asked what it was like working with Ortega, 21 — his new co-star who plays Winona Ryder’s character’s daughter Lydie Deetz — Keaton couldn’t help but gush.

“Oh man, she’s good, she just got it, you know? She’s got the tone,” Keaton said of the actress. “She showed up and immediately knew what the tone was and just slipped in like she does every day. She’s really special.”

Last month, Keaton opened up to PEOPLE about filming the long-awaited follow-up to the comedy about a rude and gruff demon hired by two ghosts (played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) in hopes of scaring the new owners of a house. they once inhabited.

“It’s the most fun I’ve had on set in a long time,” said the actor, who shot the film last year.
