Michelle Trachtenberg Claps Back at Critics Questioning Her Health and Appearance: ‘This Is My Face’

Michelle Trachtenberg sets the record straight in her appearance.

On Sunday, the former Gossip girl The 38-year-old alum posted a photo on Instagram in which she responded to the criticism and comments she received on previous posts about her appearance.

“Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnourished, no problem. Why do you have to hate? Get a calendar,” the actress wrote alongside a selfie showing her pink hair dyed with sauce.

The negative comments started a few days earlier after Trachtenberg posted a similar selfie wearing the same graphic tee and thick eyeliner. “Shoot it to make it 💋,” Trachtenberg captioned the image.

In the comments, people reacted with concern and asked if the actress was healthy. “I’m worried about the yellow in your eyes, but other than that you are a QUEEN and a wonderful human being who deserves love and joy,” one person wrote.

“You’re stunning, but you’ve had buccal fat removed,” someone else commented. “Your cheeks suddenly look sunken, exactly the same way that removing buccal fat from the face/cheeks does to people. You’ve always been beautiful and still are and there’s nothing wrong with the surgery, but why lie about it?

But Trachtenberg was quick to respond and let her fans and followers know she was fine.

“Recently I got a few comments about my appearance. I’ve never had plastic surgery, I’m happy and healthy. Look at you haters,” Trachtenberg captioned her next Instagram post.

Last week, Trachtenberg also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of a hairdo alongside actress and singer Alexa PenaVega. In the photo, she and PenaVega pose side by side with towels hanging around their necks.

“These kids…now grown ups doing their roots/hair! I love this girl @vegaalexa 🔎💖,” she wrote.

Trachtenberg often uses his Instagram feed as a platform to connect with fans and open up about his past.

In 2020, she shared an emotional Valentine’s Day post in which she reflected on being a victim of abuse in her adolescent years.

Although Buffy the Vampire Slayer star was a successful working child actress, admitted that she still has “scars” from past traumas of abuse.

“The children were cruel. There is no need to burden yourself with the past,” she said. “But I’m still scarred from being thrown down the stairs and hitting the cupboards head first.”

In honor of those who are currently being bullied, Trachtenberg wrote in her caption: “I am writing this to every child, teenager, person who is being bullied. You are something. Don’t put your worth in someone else. Not letting them win is your victory.”
