According to a member of the MX scene, Mike was one of the most genuinely nice individuals you could ever meet. One of Mike’s close friends, who signed him to Elite MX Apparel, started a campaign for the benefit of the late rider’s family.

Mike Walker, motocross racer, passed away on January 13, 2024. Walker was killed in an accident, according to an MX forum member. Forum member Vital MX said the rider died at Arenacross in front of family and friends. Another user said the accident happened while they were trying to move the bike off the track.
MaKayla Payne, one of Mike’s closest friends, organized a fundraiser for the family of the late motocross rider. At the fundraiser, MaKayla said Mike’s wife and kids were at Arenacross in Dallas, Texas to see him do what he loves. The fundraising goal is to raise $8,000 and is halfway there, and the motocross community has come together to help the family of the late rider.
Some of Mike’s closest friends updated their Facebook profile photos with Mike’s photos. The inscription on the photo reads “Rest in peace and keep driving”. Broc Payne, MaKayla’s husband, posted another link on his Facebook page explaining how people can help Mike’s family at this difficult time. He posted a post from Elite MX Apparel, a clothing company that sells t-shirts with Mike’s bike number and a depiction of him with wings. They made it known that the whole process would benefit Mike’s family.
Friends and family are mourning the tragic loss
Unfortunately, Mike’s family was there when disaster struck. The rider lived with his family in Superior, Nebraska. Mike was reportedly married to Debra Sanchez Walker and had three children with her. Debra, like her husband, enjoys riding and has posted many photos of herself with her Harley Davidson. Mike was not very active on social media, so he rarely shared details about his private life. But in June 2022, he uploaded a photo of himself and his three boys riding bikes.
Besides that picture, Mike’s Facebook page is full of photos of him from various events. Mike is one of Debra and Michael Walker’s two children, and Debra shared a family photo for Christmas 2022. Following the news of Mike’s death, many of his friends took to social media to express their condolences. Kelson Kats released a video compilation of Mike. With the picture she wrote: “One of the most caring and motivated men I have ever met.” This man’s enthusiasm and love for motocross is second to none! Thank you for the memories and friendship you gave me.” 835 Suspension and Repair posted a photo of Mike and said they will donate a portion of their profits through the end of January and February to Mike’s family.
