Miley Cyrus dared to bare!
The “Flowers” singer, 31, rocked the red carpet at the 2024 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, wearing a barely-there gold mesh dress with safety pin detailing with matching metallic panties and gold heels by Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela. The tailored nude Maison Margiela dress strategically covered Cyrus in all the right places, but allowed her many tattoos to peek through.
The singer and actress teased her hair into a voluminous curl that was swept away from her face. Hairstylist Bob Recine used Nexxus products to achieve the look. “I’ve worked with Miley for a long time and tonight we wanted to create something different from last year, with a style that felt like 70s, Barbarella, while still having a modern, punk edge. By creating a big updo while leaving some of the tease visible, it allows the look to keep a fresh, sexy feel,” she tells PEOPLE.
For glam, Cyrus turned to Pat McGrath Labs for bronze tones to match the metallic hues of her dress. “For Miley at the Grammys, I wanted her to shine like a golden goddess, a soulful beauty,” makeup artist James Kaliardos said in a statement.

Capping off a career-high year in 2023, Cyrus received six Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year for Summer vacation without end and three nods for “Flowers” — best pop solo performance, album of the year and song of the year. The infectious anthem of empowerment spent eight weeks atop the Billboard Top 100 last January and made Spotify history by reaching one billion streams on the platform faster than any other song.
When the nominations were announced back in November, Cyrus posted a message on x (formerly Twitter), thanking her fans for their continued support of her music and highlighting the dominance of female artists among the nominees.

“Congratulations to all of this year’s Grammy nominees. Watching women rule the music industry makes me proud,” she wrote. “It’s fun to be nominated and exciting to win, but the real trophy is that my music is LOVED all over the world.”
“To my Smilers – I celebrate YOU today. Your joy is my bliss,” she added. My team + all my collaborators are irreplaceable and invaluable pieces of this puzzle. I love you all. Thank you for making my endless summer vacation so sweet.”

Miley Cyrus Celebrates 1st Anniversary of ‘Flowers’: ‘Makes Me Happy’

Last month, Cyrus marked the one-year anniversary of the release of “Flowers” by sharing two black-and-white photos of her fittingly holding a rose.
“One year ago today ‘Flowers’ started making people happy and that makes me happy. I love you. Thank you. XO MC,” she wrote in an Instagram post that has garnered more than 2 million likes.
In an interview with British Vogue last June, Cyrus revealed that the hit song almost sounded a lot different.
“I wrote it in a really different way,” she told the magazine. “The chorus was originally, ‘I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand, but I can’t love myself better than you’.”
“It used to be more, like the 1950s. The saddest song. Like, ‘Sure, I can be my own lover, but you’re so much better,'” she continued. “The song is kind of fake it until you make it. who I’m a big fan of.”
The “Wrecking Ball” singer also addressed fan speculation that “Flowers” has several references to her relationship with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.
Dismissing the rumours, she said British Vogue, “I never have to be a master in the art of tricking the audience. It will catch fire by itself.”
