Day 2 box office results for Mission Raniganj: After a weak start, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s film saw a big surge on Saturday, earning Rs 4.70 crore. Mission Raniganj, a real-life thriller starring Akshay Kumar, debuted on Friday with Rs 2.8 crore in its opening weekend. The film, which also stars Parineeti Chopra, is based on a coal mine tragedy in West Bengal where 65 mine workers had to be rescued after a flood. The film’s earnings grew significantly on Saturday, growing by over 69% to Rs 4.70 crore. Directed by Tina Suresh Desai, the film now has a two-day total of Rs 7.5 crore.
However, the average occupancy rate in the Hindi market for Mission Raniganj was only 15.73%. The evening, afternoon and morning shows, in contrast to the night shows, had an occupancy of 15.8, 13.5 and 10.13%, respectively. Mission Raniganj was released with the flop Thank You For Coming, which earned close to Rs 2.4 crore in just two days. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan continues to attract audiences while last week’s Fukrey 3 is also enjoying a happy reception.
