One mom documents the “weirdest experience” she’s ever had at Disneyland.
Kat Pond, who has a TikTok account for her family called @ThePondss, shared a video in which she described a “crazy” interaction with a character at Disneyland.
In her August 26 post, Pond claims a character surprised her by patting her sleeping baby on the head while she was in a carrier.
At the beginning of the clip, Pond, who visits the parks “several times a week,” explained that while her husband went to check out some of the park’s rides, she sat in the restaurant while her 11-month-old baby napped “chest to chest with me , dead asleep in her litter.”
As she sat alone at a table for 20 minutes talking on the phone, Pond claimed that “all of a sudden someone reaches over me and eavesdrops on my sleeping baby.”
The mum described the confusing situation, saying her baby woke up immediately.
“I turn around and I’m ready to be mad and it’s a Disney character, and I’m like ‘what’s going on?’ like I was so shocked by the whole experience.” She did not reveal which character it was.
Pond recalled telling the character, “She was asleep,” to which the character allegedly replied, “Oh, looks like the princess is awake now.”
The content creator said the character kept trying to peek with his “barely awake, dazed” baby. “I’m annoyed, my child is annoyed,” she added.
As she continued the story, Pond said she should have told the character to leave, but was too “shocked” to protest. She then stated that the figure continued to try to talk to her and asked her, “Don’t you want a photo with me?”
Because her baby was getting “fussy,” Pond said she took a picture with the character because she just “wanted so badly for this experience to be over.”
“It worked [my baby] so grumpy that we couldn’t get her to relax because she didn’t sleep well and we ended up having to leave for today,” she said at the end of the TikTok.

Some commenters on the post speculated that the character might not be a real Disney cast member, but a fellow cosplayer from the park. (Adults over 14 are not allowed to wear Disney costumes in the parks.) Pond responded, “She was real and she had an escort nearby!!!”
In the comments section, she told followers that she ended up reaching out to Disney. “They said they would look into it and get back to me! I’ll let you know when I have news,” she wrote on Tuesday, August 27.
PEOPLE reached out to representatives for Disney and Pond for comment, but they did not immediately respond.
