Myra and Ian’s first murder took place on 12 July 1963. He told Hindley that he wanted to commit “the perfect murder”. Brade raped and buried 16-year-old Pauline Reade.
Then, on November 23, 1963, Brady sexually assaulted Kilbride and attempted to cut his throat with a six-inch serrated blade before strangling him with a shoelace or string.
