Touring life has changed for 98 Degrees from their days as a ’90s boy band to their continued success as a group today.
Bandmates Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre recently told PEOPLE how touring is looking different these days ahead of a 13-stop tour that will take them into the holiday season.
“Well, I think it’s better for us that we’re having more fun. There used to be a lot of pressure compared to a lot of other groups, and the pressure of constantly traveling to stay relevant. Now, we’ve got so much going on, our career is established, we all have families,” says Jeff, a father of four.
“So when we get the chance, the chance to be out there in front of our fans and go on tour together, there’s no more pressure except to make sure we put on a good show, which luckily we still can,” he adds. . “I think it’s more fun for us. It’s kind of the icing on the cake for what we’ve considered a really great blessed career.”

Nick Lachey pokes fun at his famous silly TikTok pose: ‘This is still my only move’
Nick agrees, noting that balancing tour and family life “kind of makes it a little harder to be on the road.”
“Because before it was literally just the four of us, kind of with an ‘us against the world’ mentality. Now we have kids and families and things that are also obviously very important to us. So it’s trying to strike that balance between being invested in our careers , but also that we are there for our families and personal lives.”
Nick has three children – sons Camden, 12, and Phoenix, 7, and daughter Brooklyn, 9 – with wife Vanessa Lachey.
“I think they’re happy to get us out of the house,” jokes Drew, who shares son Hudson, 14, and daughter Isabella, 18, with wife Lea.

“Jeff and my kids are growing up and getting older. Nicks still has youngsters,” she says with a laugh. “As for us, I think they all know what they signed up for. This has been a part of our lives for 30 years. So our tours, us making music, us spending time in the studio, it’s all part of who we are.” , notes Drew.
“We’re all very lucky to have families that support us and understand what we’re doing. They know that no matter how long we’re on the road, we’re always thinking of them. And FaceTime always makes those things easier,” he adds.
