North West Rips Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Dresses, Says She Looked Like She Was ‘Covered by a Plastic Bag’

North West keeps it real with Kim Kardashian.

During the latest episode The KardashiansNorth gave her tailoring opinion on her mom.

In the episode, North attended a rehearsal with Kardashian, 43, who was preparing for the Met Gala in 2023. At a New York shoot with Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry, North didn’t hold back.

After asking North what she thought of the Met’s 2023 look, the 10-year-old gave a look back at Kardashian’s past outfits.

According to North, the stunning Balenciaga look, which Kardashian wore to the 2021 Met Gala, “looks like you’re covered in a plastic bag, you’re suffocating and you can’t see.”

The set covered Kardashian’s entire face and body, which was controversial at the time. Last year, Kardashian opened up Vogue about her initial reluctance to wear a bold look.

“I was fighting it. I was like, I don’t know how I could wear a mask. Why would I want to cover my face?” Kardashian said. Vogue. “But Demna [Gvasalia, creative director at Balenciaga] and the team said, ‘This is a gala costume. This is not a vanity fair a party where everyone looks beautiful. There is a theme and you must wear a mask. That’s what it looks like.’ ”

Kardashian was convinced and wore the full suit, complete with a mask – which she later said was hard to see.

“This Kim look is like a new subculture and fashion statement,” a source told PEOPLE. “No logo, no face, but everyone knows it’s her.”

In the episode, North also criticized Kardashian’s 2013 Met Gala look, which took place while she was pregnant with her. Kardashian wore a floral turtleneck dress designed by Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci. Despite it being a dress that actually included her, North told her mom that she didn’t really like it.

The printed dress was the subject of much criticism, and Kardashian later spoke out Vogue she “cried all the way home.” Reflecting on the dress, Kardashian said she loved the look.

“Now it’s, like, sick,” she said, adding that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen loved the dress.

North said her favorite look from her mom at the Met Gala was Kardashian’s custom Mugler gown in 2019. The latex look was beaded to make it look like it was leaking, while Kardashian wore her hair “wet” to complete the look.
