He trained with Satyajeet Yelne, initially using Indian bows and later switching to recurve bows. Later he changed colleges as the college in Trimurti Nagar had no target support. He joined A-ZEE Sports Academy and trained under NIS coach Mohammad Zeeshan Rafique for 5 to 6 years. There, he learned and practiced compound archery and became the first athlete from Uttarakhand to win a national-level medal. Later, A-ZEE Sports Store paid for Ojas’ equipment because his parents couldn’t afford it at the time. His parents thought Rs. 90,000 is too much money, I want to invest in business. However, his uncle supported him and said there was nothing to worry about. He said in an interview,
My uncle gave me 90,000 rupees. This was a turning point in my fledgling sports career. Many talented athletes drop out of sports because they do not receive timely support. I have to consider myself lucky. “
He lived in the coach’s house for more than a year, and the coach trained him for free. He is well respected in the academy, so everyone is willing to help him. He trains with coach Mohammad Zeeshan at A-ZEE Sports Academy. In July 2022, he changed schools and moved to Satara. He started training under coach Pravin Sawant at Drushti Archery Academy.
