John Easterling is still very much in love with his late wife Olivia Newton-John.

Two years after Fat star died of breast cancer at the age of 73, it’s a love Easterling now pours into the mission she began decades ago to eradicate cancer and provide better care for those who suffer from it.

“I’m doing great,” the naturopathic entrepreneur, 72, tells PEOPLE exclusively, opening up about life now. “I’m very busy with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation and the research that’s going on there. We’re sponsoring herbal medicine and cancer research. And the beauty of it is that we’re seeing some pretty amazing early-stage results.”

He is also in the midst of trying to sell the sprawling ranch in Santa Ynez, California where he and Newton-John spent many happy years together and where she eventually died. “I’m still at the ranch, but we just put it on the market. Here are my animals, horses, cat and dog. We’re all moving forward.”

While his wife was still alive, “it was nice for us here, but it was our place and now I recognize that it’s time to let someone else enjoy that peace, tranquility and beauty,” he says. “People who are in similar circumstances that I know would understand.”

Although Easterling is ready to relocate, planning to split his time between Florida and Peru, he says his heart isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

“I feel this very strong presence of hers all the time. And sometimes even last night at the full moon, she was so present. And today I was just listening to ‘My Dream,’ a Jim Brickman song, and it was so spectacular,” he says of the newly released single which contains a long-lost recording of Newton-John. “It really just sent me into a supernatural space of emotion and joy.”

Easterling still feels so connected to Newton-John that he finds it hard to think about the possibility of finding romantic love again.

Olivia Newton-John and John Easterling’s relationship: a look back

“Olivia and I had a love so great and so indefinite in time,” he says. “We embraced it as something even bigger than ourselves. We never had any petty fights or anything like that. I mean, our whole life experience and the things we shared and believed in were just too important. I didn’t even think that love could to be so.”

He continues: “It’s not going to happen again, I mean, I don’t expect it. Lately I’ve been getting messages from Olivia when I’m in Peru at our special places there, and those messages are like ‘Love life, live life is very, very precious and don’t not to waste a moment of life because it is a very thin veil that separates us.'”

Love, Easterling says, “can be expressed in many forms and in many ways. It’s having loving relationships with everyone in your life. They’re just different expressions.” But as for finding the kind of love he had with Newton-John, “I couldn’t imagine it being possible the first time. So I can’t imagine it being possible again.”

However, he imagines that he will see Newton-John again. “I see and feel her presence all the time and know that we will be fully united again. It gives me strength and energy to really push forward.”
