He is said to have narrowly escaped serious injury in the attack at HMP Wakefield in July, which was allegedly stopped by prison guards.
A source told The Sun: “Sinaga is arrogant and everyone hates him. He is a clear target in prison for his depraved crimes.
“He was seconds away from an extremely serious injury. He is in danger.”
Sinaga came to the UK as a student from Indonesia in 2005 and spent more than a decade drugging and raping men in his flat in Manchester.
He was caught after the victim woke up during the 2017 attack.
Officers later found thousands of hours of sexual assault clips on his phone, sparking the biggest rape investigation ever.
Jack McRae, 32 — who has since been transferred to Frankland Prison in Co Durham — has been charged with attempted GBH with intent to murder Sinaga, 41.
He was charged with the same offense against child rapist murderer Wilbert Dyce in Wakefield in 2023.
McRae was also charged with ABH on the legs of Sayed Taheri, Patrick Harrington and Andrew Gillis, and assaulting an ambulance worker.
Another man, Andrew Beadie, now of Long Lartin, Worcs, was jointly charged over the alleged attack on Taheri.
McRae is before Leeds JPs on Tuesday.
The Court of Appeal increased the minimum prison sentences for notorious rapists
