Optical illusion makes viewers’ ‘brains hurt’ – can you see the real illustration?

The optical illusion causes some viewers a headache, while others wonder if they are seeing the actual illustration.

The artist Erik Johansson is responsible for the last image that has delighted Reddit users.

The optical illusion shared on the website has generated dozens of comments about how it affects the viewer’s brain.

Titled The Architect, the painting shows a man working at a desk with a dog.

“Is he in or out?” Johansson wrote in an Instagram post showing off the artwork.

– It’s a matter of perspective.

On his website, Johansson wrote: Imagine the unthinkable.

“I have a great fascination for geometry and for playing with perspective,” he explained.

“Just the fact that it’s possible to create or draw something that’s impossible in the real world, but still seems possible. It’s like our mind wants it to make sense, even though it doesn’t.”

One viewer wrote on Reddit: “This is a good illustration of the limitations of the human brain.

“This is just a flat white canvas with pigment applied to it, but it’s almost impossible for our brains to process it as such.”

“Well done, beautiful job,” wrote one viewer.

But not everyone was so quick to praise the artistry behind the illusion. For some, the image was hard to see.

“It’s cool, but when I see the ceiling, I’m blown away,” said one user.

“Is it wrong that I hate this? My brain doesn’t approve,” wrote another.

“The background ruined the optical illusion,” someone else wrote.

Some users have noted the influence of the artist.

“This is definitely an MC Escher inspired artist. Very cool and awesome,” wrote one user.

Optical illusions have proliferated on the Internet for years.

But a recent resurgence has Reddit users testing the limits of their eyes and brains.

Especially with this illusion, viewers are challenged to see the house as it was intended.

“Thanks, now my brain hurts lol,” wrote one Reddit user.

“Glad I’m not the only one. Hahaha. It hurts behind my eyes,” said another.
