Optical illusion reveals a lot about how you view sex – do you spot a man or woman in this image?

THIS optical illusion claims to reveal a lot about how people view sex.

Richard Russell’s “Sex Illusion” appears to show the faces of a man and a woman, but the images are actually two versions of the same face.

The optical illusion claims to reveal a lot about how people view gender.

The contrast in one of the images increases, while in the other it decreases, writes Illusion of The Year.

A face with higher contrast is considered female, while an image with lower contrast is considered male.

The eyes and lips are exactly the same in the photos because their contrast has not changed.

This is despite the fact that the lines in one of the images are darker.

In The Oxford Compendium of Visual Illusions, Russell explains: “Female faces are more attractive with increased rather than decreased facial contrast, while male faces are more attractive with decreased rather than increased facial contrast.”

He said that the illusion “demonstrates the importance of this kind of contrast with the perception of gender.”

Viewers were left confused trying to identify which face was female and which was male.

One said: “For some reason I’m a little more inclined to think that the actual image (the darker shade) is male.

“Gives the illusion of thicker brows, more ‘tone’ and ‘complexion’.

“It really makes you think… just the lighting.”

Meanwhile, we’re reporting that an image showing an elephant and 12 other creatures purportedly reveals a lot about their attention to detail.

In the illusion, the animals that stand out are the elephant, the donkey, the dog, the cat and the mouse.

Eagle-eyed observers may spot a snake hidden in an elephant’s tail: it will leap at you when you see its tiny eye and mouth.

The more observant will also notice a mosquito buzzing on the elephant’s hind leg.

Spotting between seven and nine creatures means that your attention to detail is very good and you will probably benefit from it on a daily basis.

And a picture that seems to show both an old man and a girl reveals a lot about a person’s mental age.

If you saw an older man, it means that you have traveled a lot and are mature.

However, viewers who saw the young woman for the first time did not give up her innocence.
