Jackey Johnson’s three-year-old daughter, Stella, is obsessed with Halloween. So when Johnson and her husband told Stella about Ghost Halloween, her enthusiasm grew, and she even walked around for days with a coupon the family received in the mail.

One day after dance class, Johnson and her husband, Hunter, 30, decided to surprise Stella by taking her to Spirit Halloween. As they drove along the highway, Stella spotted a sign on the other side of the road and became very excited. Johnson’s husband quickly pulled out his phone to record her reaction.

“It’s raw, it’s real. I was like, how do you get so excited? You don’t even know what’s in there,” Johnson, 29, tells PEOPLE exclusively, recalling her daughter’s reaction. “We were so thrilled that she was so excited about it. It’s one of those moments as a parent that brings back the joy of the holidays.”

“We were just smiling, speechless, thinking, ‘This is amazing,'” adds the Charlotte, NC native. “In these moments, you get to relive that experience through someone else and see the joy Spirit Halloween brings her. Halloween in general excites her—she literally dresses up in 20 different costumes every day. It’s just amazing to us. I can’t even find the words.”

Eventually, the mom of two decided to post the video on TikTok, where it garnered more than a million views and 2,500 comments. While she’s usually hesitant to share her kids on social media, she found the positive feedback from the video to be incredibly sweet.

“Everyone was saying, ‘This is the joy of Halloween,’ which is so nice,” she shares. “I think most of us don’t get so excited about the little things anymore, so it was touching to see everyone call us great parents for letting her have her moment and express herself.”

“The feedback has been extremely positive,” she adds. “I also made another video about taking our daughter to Spirit Halloween because she wanted to go. I think everyone lived vicariously through her, experiencing the joy of being a little kid for Halloween and picking out costumes, along with all the excitement that comes with it.”

Johnson tells PEOPLE that when Stella finally walked into the store, she was overjoyed. However, right at the entrance she encountered a terrible animatronic. While Stella was a little spooked, the family went to the children’s section, where she entered what looked like costume heaven.

As they looked through the costumes, Johnson recalls her daughter pointing at everything and exclaiming, “Now I want to be this, now I want to be this!”

After going through the options, Stella decided on a Moana outfit which she paired with a Hei Hei rooster costume for her little brother. Johnson adds that Stella also picked out a few other costumes, including Wednesday Addams and Beetlejuice, because the family has several trick-or-treating and Halloween events.

“Spirit Halloween actually sent her a box of candy, which was so nice, and she was thrilled,” Johnson says. “She walks around with a bag that they sent her every day. It included T-shirts, hats and all these little things. It was the cherry on top for her. They did a great job with her.”
