Nicholas Young, Penny’s agent, responded to the ongoing speculation with an official statement, saying HELLO!: “No story here. Penny is invited to appear on the show in September, but is only available for one date in the near future; a date that doesn’t work for LW.

“Penny has just returned from overseas after six weeks away; and is leaving for South America soon. The LW and I have agreed to revisit the diary when she returns in October.

“Obviously, Penny is no longer a regular panelist. This is purely due to other professional and personal commitments. Penny loves the show; and LW loves Penny. But any future appearances she may make will be as a ‘guest.'”

Since September 2014, Penny has been billed as an occasional panellist, before being promoted to regular panellist in series 25. However, her appearances have become far less frequent of late. As mentioned in the statement above, Penny has been busy traveling and has been posting photos from Los Angeles and Marbella.

While Penny denied reports of a toxic work environment at Relaxed women, the relationship of the stars of the show has been questioned before. Speaking to the Mirror in August 2023, the former Relaxed women agent Melanie Blake said: “Having represented more than 15 women on the show, I’m only friends with Saira Khan.

“But I’m in such a positive career position right now, it’s just not a period I want to relive. But I can confirm from experience, that show is a place to work cheekily, not This Morning.”

Melanie added: “Despite Loose Women being best friends on the party line from day one, it’s just that, the party line. Just because you get a job you’re sitting next to each other doesn’t mean you’re going to be friends. There were a lot of egos in to my era, so it’s not a series I want my new agency to star in again.

“I don’t watch it anymore – it’s like a toxic ex, you just want to move on. I would literally cross the road to avoid ex-clients from that show. But hey, my work on the show brought me a massive house, so every cloud!”
