Phaedra Parks brought the glam Traitors — and nailed her role as a traitor.
Spoiler alert: she didn’t quite make it, because she didn’t actually win the game as a Traitor, but she looked flawless every day she stayed in the game.
On the first day of Peacock’s second season, Parks was branded a traitor, which meant she was tasked with tricking the Faithful into believing she was one of them so that she and her fellow traitors could steal the bounty at the end of the series. game.
Parks outlasted several of her fellow traitors, but thanks to a “hack” she used with her makeup, she tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The way the game works, every day all players vote to kick someone out of the game. Their goal is to banish the traitor so that at the end of the game only loyalists remain. After the banishment, everyone goes to bed for the night, but then the Traitors come out to play. All the traitors meet in secret in the middle of the night to “kill” the player (aka, send them home).
Parks, who recently partnered with IT Cosmetics for its social media campaign Keep It Real, tells PEOPLE that during her season of the game, which premiered on the Peacock last January, her fellow players began to suspect anyone who looked tired every morning, assuming these players were traitors who stayed up all night committing murders. And she had to stand up to it.
“I thought I’d wake up at 4 a.m., hide my eyes and look amazing,” she says. “Because people looked at everyone so closely in the morning. When the girls came in, if they looked a little haggard, they’d say, ‘She must be a traitor. She hasn’t slept. Look at the bags under her eyes.’ So when they said that, I said, ‘Oh my God, look, I’m so rested’.
As a self-proclaimed “hack girl”, makeup has become her best friend to stay in the game as long as possible.

The play, directed by Alan Cumming and filmed in a remote castle in Scotland, also meant that Parks had no extra help with her make-up. That was fine with her, because she told PEOPLE that she considers herself an “amateur makeup artist.” Although people assumed she had help with her makeup for the performance.
“I put on make-up every day,” she says with a laugh and adds: “I put on make-up.” and most of the rest of the cast. The other girls were always like, ‘Please put makeup on me’. I said, ‘Okay, great. Sit in my chair.'”
The The Real Housewives of Atlanta star may not have taken home the big prize Traitors — shared by CT Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella — but she claims going on the show was “the best thing” she’s ever done.
