Poorna Malavath is an Indian mountaineer who has completed seven summit climbing challenges. She is the youngest tribal girl in the world to have completed seven summits, and the youngest girl to summit Mount Everest.

Poorna Malavath was born on Saturday, June 10, 2000 (22 years old; as of 2023) in Pakala village, Sirkonda Mandal, Nizamabad district, Telangana (then Andhra Pradesh). Her zodiac sign is Gemini. During her childhood, she attended local schools in the village and moved to the Telangana Society of Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions (TSWREIS) Girls’ School in Tadwai, Kamareddy at the age of 11. After completing her studies, she pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree from Telangana Society of Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions (TSWREIS) Degree College and went to Minnesota State University in the United States as a fellow student in the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program. In 2013, RS Praveen Kumar, an IPS officer and then secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Association of Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions, discovered her talent for mountaineering during an extra-curricular activity he launched to curb the high school dropout rate. She went to a climbing school in Bangir in Nalgonda district of Telangana over the weekend to train under coach Sekhar Babu Bachinepally. She was then sent to Bhongir for a rock climbing expedition with 110 members. The selectors were stunned when she scaled the 6,500-foot rock using only small gaps in the rocks without using any ropes. RS Praveen Kumar chose her and 19 other students to study high-altitude mountaineering at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling. After completing basic training in Darjeeling, she traveled to Ladakh to learn and practice mountaineering in high-altitude snow. She was selected to climb Mount Everest with her friend S Anand Kumar from Kamam and underwent 8 months of rigorous physical training under the guidance of head coach Sekhar Babu Bachinepally. During her training, she climbed the 17,000-foot Mount Lenok on Kanchenjunga to adapt to high-altitude climbing. At 6:00 am on May 25, 2014, together with her coach Sekhar Babu, friend Anand Kumar and several Sherpas, she climbed the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, at 8,848 meters above sea level, after a 52-meter climb. days of exploration.
