  • Taylor Swift released a new behind-the-scenes look at her “Fortnight” music video on Friday, June 21.
  • The new video features her co-star and collaborator Post Malone
  • The visual was originally released on Friday, April 19, the same day the pop star’s latest album, Department for tortured poets

Taylor Swift’s latest behind-the-scenes look at her “Fortnight” music video is as stunning as the visual itself.

On Friday, June 21, the 34-year-old superstar gave fans a deeper dive into her video featuring Post Malone, her collaborator on the lead single from her latest album, Department for tortured poets.

The inside look begins with Swift throwing a metal cart at a two-way mirror in an all-white room. However, unlike the video, where he breaks the glass, the cart bounces back towards the “Down Bad” singer, causing her to wince and burst out laughing.

Then she introduces the first scene of the official video, which, according to her, “takes place in the Department for tortured poets” – “a public municipal building where they study the behavior and minds of poets”, the pop star explains the creative concept.

“And one of the stereotypical things about poets over the years is that people have said they’re crazy,” Swift adds, before cutting off the camera to check the footage.

“Nothing says crazy like a slight head tilt,” he jokes.

The next scene finds Swift gushing over Malone, 28, joining her on set for the music video as she explains a shot in which the two were filmed sitting opposite each other working on typewriters. We then see the “Circles” artist admiring the 19th-century technology, telling Swift, “This is amazing. I feel very steampunk.”

Still fascinated by the typewriter, Malone says, “How do you get the shift—” before his jaw drops in surprise and delight. “What the hell! I’m buying this right now.”

“This is too much fun,” he adds happily. “You shouldn’t have let me play with this.”

That’s not the only fun behind-the-scenes moment Swift and Malone share. While breaking down the concept of their scene, Austin the musician also sweetly tells his co-worker, “yes ma’am,” repeatedly as he listens to her corny ideas.

Our book — which is a sly reference to her 2010 Speak now the song “The Story of Us” — just for “fun”.

“Something about coming here puts more pressure on you to bring detail to what you’re doing,” Swift concludes, “and I really love when that happens.”
