In 2013, Praveen became a member of the Rajasthan Royals and played for the team until 2015. In February 2017, he was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 1000000. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2020 IPL auction. In an interview, Praveen talked about his debut in Test cricket at the age of 40 and said:

- Praveen received the Golden Wicket Award for taking the most wickets in the 2013 Champions League.
