A pregnant woman opposes her husband’s wish to go on a solo trip just weeks before she gives birth.
In a post on Reddit’s “Am I A——” forum, the 42-year-old woman wrote that she is expecting her second child, years after she and her husband of 12 years experienced a miscarriage following the birth of their first baby.
“I had my first daughter during [the COVID-19] pandemic and blockades. [My] the husband was working abroad and planned to come before the birth, but because [the] With the Australian border closed, he couldn’t come,” she wrote. “After a painful 1.5 years apart, we were finally reunited and he had our first born.”
Now, the woman — who kept her “pregnancy a secret from family and friends” and only told her parents and in-laws — said her mom and dad “will be coming from overseas when I’m 30 weeks to stay and support me through my delivery. ”
During that time, however, the Redditor said her husband “wants to go overseas to see his parents for 10 days, but I don’t want him to go.”

“I will be 31 weeks pregnant, but I feel after the last absence [my] pregnancy and the birth of our firstborn should be the reason he doesn’t want to go instead of me having to ask,” she continued.

In the comments on the post, many sided with the pregnant woman and said that she was not wrong.
“His parents are coming to visit. He could have left earlier in the pregnancy if he thinks he can’t travel after the baby is born. He’s just being inconsiderate,” wrote one user.
Another said: “If his parents are coming after the baby is born, he doesn’t have to go now. If even his mother says ‘don’t come’, I wonder what his real motivation is for going so close to your due date.”
Another commenter said the Redditor should question her husband and his desire to travel so close to the end of her second pregnancy.
“Ask him what it was about that trip that made him a higher priority than being a respectful and caring husband, father and son and listen carefully to his answer,” they wrote.
