Prince William and Princess Kate went out on the annual holiday for the second time as a family of five
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are bringing a little extra holiday cheer to the royal Christmas!
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s three children joined the royal family on Monday for their traditional Christmas trip to church. Each year, the royals attend a service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Norfolk.
The Prince and Princess of Wales family coordinated green and blue for this year’s event, with Charlotte wearing a shade of forest green for the holiday, similar to Kate’s outfit last year.
Princess Charlotte, eight, held hands with her mother as they walked to church with Prince George, 10, next to his younger sister.

Prince William walked with five-year-old Prince Louis wearing tartan trousers (a departure from his shorts and knee highs combo). Mia Tindall, the 9-year-old daughter of Prince William’s cousin Zara, held Louis’ other hand for part of the walk.

Earlier on Monday, Prince William and Princess Kate shared a Christmas surprise. They have released a new portrait of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis together, apparently during the same photo shoot where they captured the 2023 Christmas card.
The black and white photo shows the siblings sitting on a bench, while Charlotte hugs the siblings.

This year was the second time George, Charlotte and Louis attended the Christmas event. Prince George and Princess Charlotte made their Christmas debut at Sandringham back in 2019. While precautionary measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced the royal family to celebrate the holiday without the usual festivities in 2020 and 2021, Prince Louis joined his family for the first time last year.
Now professionals at royal events, Prince William and Princess Kate’s children got into the Christmas spirit earlier this month as they attended their mother’s third annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey. Before entering the hall, the three siblings walked over to the red mailbox and put the envelopes inside. This year, children were encouraged to send handmade Christmas cards to other children who might be struggling this year. According to royal reporter Rebecca EnglishGeorge, Charlotte and Louis wrote their cards.
The British royal family traditionally gathers at Sandringham for Christmas. On December 24, they have afternoon tea before exchanging inexpensive gifts. After a trip to church on Christmas Day, the family returns to Sandringham House for a traditional turkey feast before watching the monarch’s televised Christmas speech.

In 2021, Prince William gave a little more insight into his Christmas favorites and holiday traditions during a radio show appearance.
“For me in general getting the family together at Christmas is always nice because we’re pretty spread out doing our own thing a lot of the time of the year. We have very few moments to actually get together,” the Prince of Wales said. “When I see my kids meet my cousin’s kids, and they all have a great time playing together, it’s very special. I’m really looking forward to that.”
