Prince Harry Reveals His Candid 'Wish' for Invictus Games at 10 Years (Exclusive)

The biggest wish of Prince Harry for Invictus Games is that there will be no longer the need for an adaptive sports tournament for veterans who have been wounded, injured or sick.

Speaking exclusively to people on Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 9 February, the Duke of Sussex shared his sincere hope for an event he founded about ten years ago.

“I wish we could close it because there was no need for that, but as long as there is a need for that, we will continue that,” says Prince Harry.

“I know that the UK is looking forward to the games back, where they started, just over a few years,” he adds, inviting himself to the next issue of Invictus at Birmingham in England in 2027.

Harry, a former captain in the British army, launched an international competition to support members of services and veterans in London in 2014, which made up the tenth anniversary of Invictus last year.

“It is unbelievable that after 10 years we are still doing it, we still have to do it. The games will continue for as long as necessary, and the need is increasing, not reducing,” Prince Harry tells people to commemorate the turning point. “So the fact that it will be a full cycle in 2027 in the UK is a place I never thought we would be.”

“It’s full of positivity,” says a friend of the couple. “Harry walks around with a big smile on his face and can’t go very far without stopping him every few seconds. But that’s what’s doing.”

For Harry, the team behind the scene of the Invictus game is equally dear. The last iteration was a year in the production, with over 500 athletes from 23 countries convening in Canada in Canada, and to go to gold in the field, ice and slopes.

“From a personal point of view, I am simply grateful and proud of everyone involved in planning and organization. So many people told me after the opening ceremony:” How to continue, with the world with the world the way it is? I said, “With a really, really strong team behind it and people around the world who know the value of putting something like that,” he says People.
