WOW! In 40 years of covering the royal family, I have never seen anything like Catherine’s video.
It’s a first for the royal family and these beautiful three minutes of footage show just how grateful the young family are that their mum survived the worst.

Finally, after almost six months of chemotherapy, Catherine is looking forward to being cancer free.
And the joy and relief for the royal couple and their incredible children oozes from every frame.
William once told me that the reason he and Kate took time to get engaged was because he wanted to make sure his marriage would last forever.
Watching Kate snuggle up against her husband’s shoulder as they sat on a pile of logs in a pine forest at Holkham Beach in Norfolk tells me they are still very much in love.

Now maybe even more so than in 2011 when I photographed them kissing – twice – on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after their wedding.
And I’m sure that after the hardest few months of their 13-year marriage, it will last forever.
Because they survived the dark days — and are waiting for a bright future to look forward to.
You see a family celebrating, as Catherine says in her voiceover, the simple things in life – the things that ordinary families do when they’re together.
Picnic, playing cards, fun and laughter — running into the sea dressed, not a care in the world.
The location they chose to shoot the video last month is definitely a favorite among the royal family who had a summer house there.
Kate’s journey is a tale of two videos – fans will be delighted to see her return, says the Sun’s royal editor
This is where I photographed the Queen Mother walking her dogs along the shore.
And for this next generation of royals, the place will hold many happy memories — especially for the children, who will always remember that it’s where they learned their mom was getting better.
Since both Catherine and the king underwent treatment, it shows that cancer does not care who you are — whether you are a ruler, a princess or a pauper, this disease is a lottery.
In 1969, Prince Philip convinced the Queen to allow cameras to follow them and the children in a ground-breaking documentary.
Back then, the royals seemed stiff and somewhat distant—a family with a life most of their subjects couldn’t even imagine.
But here Catherine, William, George, Charlotte and young Louis are a normal family with the same problems the rest of us have to go through.
The kids look so happy that Kate is okay and they are slowly getting back to work, the school run, and all those things mothers do that we take for granted.
In the video, he continues how simply loving and being loved is so important in life.

Like millions of families, I know that when you lose someone close that you love very much to this terrible disease, it is heartbreaking.
But Catherine showed the world that you can survive cancer if you catch it early.
I certainly missed photographing Her Royal Highness on royal engagements this year.
And I’m sure William can’t wait to have her by his side when they travel at home and abroad.
One of the brightest stars
The last time I photographed Catherine was at Trooping the Color in June when she appeared in a carriage and on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
This beautiful woman is one of the brightest stars in the royal family.
Everything she does is followed around the world and has more publicity than any other royal family.
In this amazing video, Kate looks happy and well, but clearly not quite ready for a full day’s work.
Keep in mind that she will work this job for the rest of her life and there will be no pension for her.
So it’s in everyone’s best interest that the princess is fully fit before she returns to work properly.

I, for one, am happy to wait as long as it takes – even if she won’t be back at work properly until Remembrance Sunday or even Christmas for her magical singing service at Westminster Abbey.
But with winter not far away, seeing this lovely family so happy and blessed in the Norfolk sunshine should cheer us all up – and give the country hope for the future.
