Prraneeth Vuppala was born on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in Telangana, India (age 16, 2023). His zodiac sign is Capricornus. He hails from Aragadapa village in Nalgonda district of Telangana state. When he was a child, his parents often took him to play tennis, swimming and other sports. From then on, he started playing chess and became interested in it. Later, his parents taught him some basic chess rules and he joined a chess club to practice. He was also tutored by Ramarajoo, owner of Ramarajoo Chess Education Academy, for about seven years. He also worked and trained with Israeli chess grandmaster Viktor Michalevsky. He studied at David Memorial High School, Thanaka, Hyderabad. Later, he started studying at Vishwa Chaitanya Junior College, Hyderabad, Telangana.

In 2017, Praneeth Vuppala won the Hyderabad District U-11 competition. In the same year, he participated in the Telangana State Under-11 competition. He participated in the 4th IIFL Fortune Mumbai Open in 2018. In 2018, he participated in many chess tournaments including Capablanca Men IM, Narcis 7 GM, Budapest FSIM, 3rd IIFL Fortune Mumbai Open and 11th Triandria Open. In 2019, he participated in the Netanya Open, the 37th Balaton Championship and the Bavarian Championship. In 2021, he competed in several games at Vezerkepzo GM and Titled Tuesday Blitz. In March 2023, he participated in the MPL National Team Chess Championship in Jammu, India.

In 2023, he defeated American grandmaster Hans Niemann in the penultimate round of the Baku Open and became a grandmaster after receiving 2,500 FIDE ratings.
