Rachel Bilson Speaks Out After Whoopi Goldberg Criticized Her View of Men with Minimal Sexual Partners

Rachel Bilson clears the air about Whoopi Goldberg’s criticism of her comments.

The OC The star, 42, spoke openly about the backlash she received View co-host, 67, after she made comments during it about men who have a limited sexual history Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson podcast.

“I want to say that I’ve been a fan of Whoopi for a very long time, so when I saw the tagline that she was criticizing something I said, of course I was concerned,” Bilson told Entertainment Weekly on Thursday.

“We make it a very safe open place to discuss anything, and we were just talking,” she continued to the exit. “I have the authority to edit our podcast, and I decided to keep the conversation as a whole, because a lot of the time in life you say something, and maybe you have a minute to think about it.”

“The point I took was that it didn’t matter and maybe in the past I would have looked at it [judgmentally]but I wouldn’t do it again,” she said EW. “I made it clear that I didn’t want to sound judgmental, it was important to get that point across, not what I said at the beginning.”

Rachel Bilson fears refusing to fake orgasms makes her an ‘A–hole’ because it ‘goes against my whole nature’

On Broad ideasthat aired Monday, Bilson talked about surveying men who had a limited number of sexual partners in their 40s.

“This is going to sound so judgmental, but if a guy is in his 40s and he’s slept with, like, four women,” she said, talking about how that could be a weird quality. “But it all depends. Maybe it’s already in a decade[-long] relationships. Totally respectable.”

In Thursday’s episode ViewGoldberg commented on Bilson’s statements, saying, “I’m sorry, I think it’s very strange that you’re concerned that he had sexual partners — any sexual partners. Why does that concern you?”

“Listen, men are traditionally taught to have many sexual partners,” he said The ghost the star continued. “That’s how it was. Men could go and do whatever they wanted, but women couldn’t. Now that’s changed, and young women were going, you know, ‘Why are you telling me what I should be [doing?]’ Now it’s happening, and you’re angry. I do not understand.”

In his conversation with EWBilson clarified, “It was a flippant comment that I was just talking to friends and then I took it back, because even when I talk about it now, I don’t really believe it. So I think it’s important to stand up for it and make it clear. ”

This isn’t the first time Bilson’s comments on her podcast have landed her in trouble.

In May, she said she lost her acting job because she was “honest and open about sex in a humorous way,” referring to when she detailed her bedroom preferences in the episode Women on top podcast.

At the time, Bilson joked that she wanted to be “fucking bullied” and said she preferred the missionary position. She later admitted she was “confused” by the criticism.

“First of all, I said it jokingly in an interview, like, ‘Yeah, I want to be fucking bullied,'” she explained on Broad ideas. “Basically, it’s like, ‘Okay, give control or take control in the bedroom,’ whatever.”

“One mother, a woman, lost her job because they were honest and forthright and the subject was sex,” the actress added. – I didn’t even have a chance to defend myself.
