Rachel Lindsay Breaks Silence to Admit She’s Taking It ‘Day by Day’ amid ‘Difficult’ Divorce from Bryan Abasolo

Rachel Lindsay is still processing Bryan Abasolo’s decision to file for divorce.

The former Bachelor opened up about the end of her marriage at the beginning of Friday’s episode of her podcast Higher Education with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay.

“I didn’t think I would get emotional,” she said, crying. “First of all, I just want to say thank you to the people who reached out. I’m still trying to respond to people. You never know how big your circle is until you see all the people contacting you and loving you,” she said.

“Obviously it’s a tough time — if you read the headlines — and you’re probably wondering why I would even be working. But to be honest with you, I need to distract myself, and the best way to do that is to do something I love, and I do Higher Education.”

While Lindsay chose not to go into all the details, she promised, “I will eventually, but now is not the time, [I’m] I’m just trying to take it one day at a time.”

Lathan ended the conversation with a joke: “This is obviously a reaction to Texas losing in the college football playoff. I knew it would affect you.”

Lindsay and Abasolo met Bachelor 2017 and got married in 2019.

Although their relationship took place in the public eye, Lindsay set a public boundary and decided to stop sharing glimpses of her marriage online in the summer of 2022. “We met on a reality television show focused on finding love. The audience became interested in our story, our love and our future,” she wrote in a blog post.

“So naturally, the audience wants to know what we’re doing, if we’re doing well and what’s next for our future. They want the love story to continue playing for their public perception. But our contractual public story ended on August 7, 2017.”
