Rajesh Nair is an Indian film director and film producer, primarily working in the Malayalam film industry. He is best known for directing the Malayalam films Escape from Uganda (2013), The Salt Mango Tree (2015) and Kalyanam (2018).

Rajesh Nair, also known as Rajesh Mohanan, was born on Saturday, August 12, 1978 in Thiruvananthapuram Taluk, Kerala State (45 years; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Leo. Rajesh studied at the University of British Columbia in Canada from 1996 to 1999, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering. At the same time, he also obtained an Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering from Aptech Computer Education. Before entering the film industry, Rajesh Nair had a highly successful career as the CEO of Tembo Steel Limited, a well-known East African company specializing in the production of hot-rolled and cold-rolled profiles. He worked for Tembo Steel Limited for eight consecutive years, holding two key corporate positions: CEO and COO. During his tenure, Nair’s professional contributions were instrumental in propelling the company to become the second largest exporter of steel products in Uganda. After his tenure at Tembo Steel Limited, Nair moved to another influential position as Chief Marketing Manager of Roofings Limited, a major player in the steel industry in Uganda. He worked for Roofings Limited for a further six years, further building on his expertise and experience in the field. However, nearly a decade ago, Nair decided to change gears and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. His appointment as the Managing Director of Impressario Uganda Limited marked his entry into the entertainment industry. Through this position, he became the franchise holder of Miss Universe India in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania and one of the key organizers of the Indian lifestyle television event Zee Mantra. Nair’s background in business administration and international marketing proved critical to his rapid success in this new line of work. In the entertainment industry, Nair finally had the opportunity to explore his lifelong passion for movies and thus realize his personal dream.
